Illinois workers’ compensation benefits commonly include payment for reasonable and necessary medical treatment, temporary disability benefits while you are unable to work, and compensation for permanent impairment when an injury causes lasting limitations. Depending on the facts, an injured worker may also have a third-party claim against someone other than the employer, which can allow recovery for additional damages.
